Are our relationships adding to us or taking from us?
Taking inventory of the nature of our relationships can be beneficial as we continue our journeys to joy.
When we connect ourselves with people who consistently take without ever putting something back in, the situation can quickly become toxic. Today we will work through identifying the types of relationships we have and assessing the benefits for both ourselves and the other parties involved.
Relationship Audits - No relationship will ever be perfect. However, we want to ensure the people we surround ourselves with bring us more joy than turmoil. Consider the people you spend the most time with and assess how they make you feel on a scale from 1 to 10.
Consider the conversations you all have.
Consider the feedback you receive when you tell them bad news.
What happens when you share successes with these individuals?
Are you getting more than your give?
Are they getting more than they give?
What is the foundation of this relationship?
2. Create a vision of what your ideal relationships look and feel like?
How often do you need to speak to the people in your network?
What kind of things do you all talk about?
How does your network show up for you?
How do you show up your network?
What goals do you share with your network?
What beliefs do you share with your network?
3. Based on the vision you have created, determine if your current relationships reflect your ideal vision?
Does your current relationship reflect the idea vision you have for relationships?
What could you do to change the dynamics of the relationships that do not meet your ideal expectations?
How can you communicate your needs to your network?
By actively assessing and refining our relationships, we can create a more fulfilling life. Remember, people are able to tell how we feel about ourselves based on the company we keep and the relationships we have with others.
Staying committed to nurturing both our internal and external relationships can enable us to continue to build the purposeful life!
Best,
