Raise your hand if anxiety has ever convinced you to walk away from something good. Did anxiety ever make you feel like joy, peace, love, or success didn't belong to you? I've thought it too!
BUT HERE'S THE THING: Anxiety can’t take what didn’t belong to it in the first place.
Sometimes we may need professional help or support to get there, and that’s completely okay. But what’s not okay is letting anxiety control our lives. You hold the power! So let's welcome joy and peace back into our lives.
Here are a few things you can do today to begin to reclaim what belongs to you:
1. Write down three simple things that bring you joy, then do them.
Consider simple actions that could enhance your happiness today. It could be a moment of gratitude, calling a friend, or stepping outside for some fresh air. Even the smallest endeavor can shift your mindset. Write it down. It serves as your personal reminder that joy is within reach.
2. Spend five minutes visualizing what you’ve written.
After you have your list, close your eyes and visualize yourself engaging in those activities. Imagine experiencing the joy, peace, and optimism you’ve described. Envision how your body feels when you're light, relaxed, and fully present in the moment. Feel the weight lifting as you embrace those emotions. This serves as your mental “reset” to invite more peace into your life.
3. Repeat this practice daily for the next two weeks.
Set aside just five minutes each day to revisit your list and visualize your joy. As you continue this practice, you'll start to notice that the more you invite these positive feelings, the more they show up on their own. You will allow your mind to become more focused on gratitude, optimism, and joy, even during tough times.
Remember, it’s not about eliminating anxiety overnight; it’s about recognizing that you have the power to overcome it. Every time it shows up, you have the opportunity to reclaim what’s yours, which is peace, joy, love, success, and anything else that bears your name.
You are worthy of joy.
You are worthy of peace.
And anxiety no longer has permission to be the loudest voice in your life.
With love,
